AJ Update
(This is a picture of AJ after we got home from his appointment!)
Anderson had his big appointment today. In fancy doctor talk its called a Frenulechtomy. In mommy and daddy talk, he ‘got his tongue snipped.’ Whatever you want to call it, AJ did wonderful! AJ was born tongue tied–an actual condition where your frenulum, the flap of skin that connects the bottom of the tongue to the bottom of the mouth, is connected too far along the tongue. Thankfully, it was never so severe that he was unable to eat. God was very kind and merciful towards him so that AJ was always able to eat enough to be sustained, but he wasn’t growing enough. So, today he got his tongue snipped.

He did so well! I’m so proud of my little, brave boy! Our pediatrician’s husband is an ENT doctor, and he was able to do the procedure right in his office. Naturally, AJ cried during the procedure, but he bled only a bit and was able to nurse immediately after! After about 5 minutes he was all happy and smiley again! And, what a blessing, it already seems to be benefitting him! Nursing usually takes AJ anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour… after his appointment, he now takes only 10-15 minutes to eat! I have to admit, I do miss our long bonding sessions, but I am so grateful for how quickly God has allowed him to improve!

So thank you to all of those who prayed on our behalf. Ben and I felt God’s peace strongly during the procedure and are overwhelmed, once again, by our Savior’s kindness towards people who do not deserve such kindness!
