A.J. Memory #2–His Birth Story
Like his sister, Anderson was almost 2 weeks late. And also like Maddie, my body started labor on its own the night before my induction date. This time, I only need a bit of pitocin to get labor really going. We headed into the hospital the morning of February 3rd. 7 hours later after 30 minutes of pushing, at 4:02pm, Anderson Jay Whitefield Ross was born. A.J. was a whopping 10 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches long–he was called the Giant of the nursery! I will never forget the moment he came out–he looked at me intently with big wide open eyes and was SILENT! It was like he was just taking it all in. I didn’t expect that–Maddie came out screaming. A.J. continued to be very peaceful and content the hours after his birth–at one point the nurse even started to panic and flick him because she thought he was dead! Nope, that’s just my content little guy! Anderson continues to be a content and joyful little guy! What a blessing he is to our family!
One of my favorite memories after his birth was watching the super bowl with Ben and A.J. in the hospital room on their fancy new plasma t.v. Ben’s looking forward to many Superbowl themed birthday parties for A.J. in the future 🙂
