Our Boy Genius:

We’re Officially “In the Zone”

This update has been coming for a while now. Anderson is turning into quite a little man–14 months already–its hard to believe. While he’s still my cuddler-extrodinaire, he’s got a bit of a temper, as well. We’ve found ourselves officially in the “Zone” once again!

Our host family has heard of the age between 18months to 5 years affectionally titled “The Zone.” The “Zone” would be an intense time of “train[ing] up a child in the way he should go, [so that] even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Ah, yes, we’ve been in the “Zone” now with Madelyn for quite a while, but it does appear that we have now entered into the “Zone” with AJ as well. Along with more testing, however, comes more and more fun moments with our little guy. AJ seems to be learning more words each day–thankfully adding more to his vocabulary than “NO!” We’ve heard him say the following words lately:

* Chicken

* Chi-chi (the girl next door)

* Mah-me (Maddie), Mommy, Daddy

* Do Dee (Do-a-Deer, Maddie’s word for deer, taken from the Sound of Music song)

* Bah-oon (balloon)

* Baby

And my favorite AJ moment to date: Jokingly, I asked AJ to go get a diaper for me. Well to my surprise, the kid crawls right over to where I store the diapers, got one and brought it back to me! We were so excited, clapping and yelling, that he started to show off and got two more to bring back! So, our little baby isn’t much of a baby anymore. Oh, and he’s starting to gain on Maddie. Their little butts are officially the same size now! I don’t think it will be long before he’s bigger than his sister!
