“I’m not a baby, I’m a Big Girl!”
aka The Ups and Downs of Potty Training and beyond…

our big girl. sigh. when did this happen?

In case you’ve been wondering whats been going on lately…Maddie has decided she’s a “big girl.” She’s been wanting to do big girl things, like sit in a big chair at dinner, pray during meal times, care for her baby brother, (ie: gently scolding “No, no you little stinker boy, no throw!” (I heard that one today and wanted to laugh-cry all at once. Should I correct her that its “stinker bean” not “stinker boy”??)), riding her tricycle, and now we’re in the ‘trenches’ so to speak of potty training. We started about a month ago–though very quickly we realized Maddie just wasn’t ready. So, we kept the potty, potty chart, potty stickers, potty candy, big girl undies, all still around for when she was ready…and it seems like she is getting interested. We’ve had a few successes lately…and a few messes today, but I’m proud of my big girl! Here are some more pictures of her lately.
