Our Adoption Adventure!

I’ve been looking forward to when I could write this post! How grateful we are to the Lord for the adventure we are beginning as a family, Lord willing, to adopt a little one!

When Ben and I were married, 6 years ago, our desire to adopt was beginning to grow. Throughout our married years we have had the honor and priviledge to watch many of our friends adopt through the foster care system, domestic programs, and international programs. Each time, our faith and desire for adoption grew stronger. Last year, while we were at the PC, we began praying about the possibilty of growing our family. We began to pray and think about another biological child, and while that excited us, our hearts more and more felt pulled to the thought of adoption. After several months of prayer, research, and counsel, we feel God has given us a peace about our next step. Today, we officially began the adventure to adopting domestically through Bethany Christian Services!

Ben and I feel just as we did when we first found out we were expecting Maddie and AJ…excited, nervous, minds racing, even a bit of nausea! 🙂 But most of all, we are full of faith that God has mighty plans for us through this adventure…knowing He will reveal His perfect plan for our family with each step, knowing He will be teaching us more about our need for Him and His great love for us!

We invite you to pray with us and for us as we continue in this adventure. Please pray for the birth mother God may one day place in our lives, and the little one He is knitting together in her womb. Already, we have a deep respect and compassion for this woman. We are excited to see all that God will do in and through this experience–we know that once again, we will learn of His provision and faithfulness!
